NFL Preseason Totals and Rest

The NFL preseason schedule gives football bettors games to choose from on nearly a daily basis. Once the first week of games begin, there are just two days each week where there are no games scheduled.

As a result, teams find themselves playing games with extremely short practice weeks, or longer-than-normal practice weeks depending on the day of their previous game.

Games involving two teams with short rest or extended rest have seen some trends develop.

NFL Preaseason Home Underdogs Deciphered

Several days ago we looked at how NFL preseason home underdogs have performed over the years. In this article, we'll look more closely at that record and how it came to be.

By delving deeper into the preseason record of home underdogs, we can eliminate a number of the losses that would occur when blindly betting all home dogs.

NFL Preaseason Home Underdogs

The NFL preseason is just three weeks ago and many bettors will rush back into football betting without having a real understanding of betting the preseason and how it differs from making a wager on a regular season game.

Here, we're going to look at how home underdogs have performed in the preseason and look why they have been decent wagers over the past eight years.

College Football's Unranked Favorites

Handicappers can spend many hours pouring over results in their quest to find an edge over the bookmaker and more often than not, those hours fail to yield anything significant. But every once in a while, a bettor will uncover something that makes it all worthwhile.

Using the 2010 Stat Attack For College Football program, I was able to uncover one of the strongest trends I've ever seen in all my years of sports betting.

2010 Stat Attack for the College Football

Regular readers of this site are probably familiar with my fondness for the Stat Attack line of computer programs. The company makes programs for college and pro football, college and pro basketball and Major League Baseball and are something that every sports bettor should have.

Those who read my review of the 2010 NFL Preseason version of Stat Attack know that the new "week after" feature was one that really had me excited.

Now that the new college football version of Stat Attack has been released, it's easy to see that my excitement was well deserved, as this is simply an amazing program.

Sports Interaction's Saturday Soccer Action

Our friends at Sports Interaction take a look at today's World Cup game between Germany and Argentina, as Sports Interaction's Al Dannity looks at what the final rounds of the World Cup have in store for bettors.

It's make or break time for Soccer bettors as the World Cup reaches its climax.

Everything is on the line in the quarter finals and semi finals but expect very different approaches from teams to each of these rounds. Knowing how to approach these games will give you an advantage before placing your bets.

The World Cup quarter finals have a lot in common with the Elite Eight round of the NCAA Basketball tournament. Teams have made it through the intensity of the Sweet Sixteen that was the second round. and now they feel like they are playing with house money.

For bettors this means its time to expect some attacking Soccer and more offense means more goals. This makes Live Betting on Sports Interaction a handy tool in the quarter finals.

Take today's game between Germany and Argentina. These two teams have been neat on defense but made it to the quarter finals because of their ability to score goals. The flow of the game should allow you to maximize your winnings as the game goes on. If Argentina scores first, expect Germany to change their shape to press forward more and create scoring chances. Take Carlos Tevez at +220 or Gonzalo Higuain at +162 with Sports Interaction as good bets to score.

If Germany takes the lead then I like them to add a second with slick counter-attacking play. That makes a final score of 2-0 to Germany great value at +1400. Make the World Cup interesting - bet on it!

Looking ahead to the semi finals next week we can expect a different picture to emerge. The focus for all the teams involved switches from 'winning' to 'not losing'. The focus will shift to defense, limiting goal-scoring opportunities. This makes a lot of the bets that were off the radar in earlier rounds a lot more attractive. Betting on draws in the semi-finals is always smart as there's a great chance at least one game will go to penalties.

Likewise taking the under on the number of goals scored becomes a savvy move. While predicting the number of goals scored in earlier games was taxing on the brain, World Cup semi finals are almost always low-scoring games. Only one of the last six games played at this stage has seen more than two goals scored. Win big by playing smart with Sports Interaction.>br>

Yanks Look to Topple the King

It's been a dismal season for the Seattle Mariners, who travel to Yankee Stadium tonight to face Javier Vasquez and the Yankees. Seattle has a huge advantage in the pitching match-up, with "King Felix" on the hill, but little else, as New York has by far the better team.

Hernandez has gotten back on track after a shaky start and has pitched 26 2/3 innings in his last three starts, allowing just five runs and notching 26 strikeouts. Seattle won two of three of those starts.

Vasquez was roughed up a bit in his last outing after having a pair of decent starts previous to that one. The Yankees are 5-6 in his starts this season.

The Yankees are getting plenty of support from bettors, as nearly 75 percent of the wagers on the game are coming in on New York.

Today's play is up and is at Free Sports Betting Picks located in the Sports Gambling 101 section of the site.

Inter-League Play Continues

Baseball fans have another round of Inter-League games to keep them busy this weekend, with some premier match-ups, such as the Yankees vs. Dodgers and the Cubs vs. White Sox. There are several regional match-ups, such as the Rangers vs. Astros and the Cardinals vs. Royals that will keep the local fans happy.

All of the games will take place under the lights with the exception of the Cubs at White Sox.

The Rangers are the largest favorite on the board today, as Colby Lewis is -280 to -300 over the Astros, while the Phillies are -230 with Roy Halladay on the hill in Toronto.

Today's play is up and is at Free Sports Betting Picks located in the Sports Gambling 101 section of the site.
